Enjoy a relaxing sleep in an airconditioned sleeper coach, and wake up fresh and ready to explore your next destination. For those wanting to experience train travel in India, it is a great option. Not only do you get to travel in a sustainable, eco-friendly manner, you also get to experience the hustle and bustle of Indian railway stations and the magic of Indian landscapes at dawn and dusk.
We always use the best available class on the train, and on most long–distance express trains that is AC First Class or AC 2-Tier.
AC First Class, denoted as AC1 or 1A on coaches and tickets, consists of berths in air-conditioned 2 & 4 berth compartments, with doors that can be locked to offer complete privacy in the compartment. Bedding is provided.
AC 2-Tier, denoted as AC2 or 2A on coaches and tickets, consists of upper & lower berths in air-conditioned 4 berth compartments. The compartments are part of the open-plan carriages and lack the doors of AC First Class, but have curtains that can be drawn for privacy at night. There are also two berths on the other side of the aisle. Bedding is provided.
AC 3-Tier, denoted as AC3 or 3A on coaches and tickets, consists of upper, middle & lower berths in air-conditioned 6 berth compartments. The compartments are part of the open-plan carriages. They sometimes have curtains that can be drawn for privacy at night. There are also two berths on the other side of the aisle. Bedding is provided.
Note that we only use AC 3-Tier as the last choice, and only when you are agreeable to it.
