Situated in the far north of the Indian Subcontinent at over 3500m (11,500ft), high on the western end of the Tibetan plateau, Ladakh is often referred to as ‘Little Tibet’. With a high altitude desert, dominated by rugged, snow-capped peaks, colourful oases, deep turquoise lakes, and studded with thriving Buddhist monasteries, it is one of the most picturesque places on earth. The strong Buddhist culture prevails and makes it a wonderfully warm and welcoming place to explore.
Combine rafting, bicycling, walking, picnics fit for kings, archery, village exploration, monastery visits, hours of relaxation time on a hot, sunny rooftop with a good book, a drink and a view from heaven; and you can’t want for much more out of a holiday.
