Swapna Liddle is one of the most respected Indian historians who’s worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the rich cultural and built heritage of Delhi. Swapna Liddle’s love for Delhi inspired her PhD thesis on its cultural and intellectual life in the nineteenth century.
She is the author of ‘Broken Script’, ‘Delhi: 14 Historic Walks’, and the bestselling Chandni Chowk: The Mughal City of Old Delhi’, among several books on the rich history of Delhi.
For many years she has been working to raise awareness about the city’s historic neighbourhoods and buildings – through her writing, heritage walks, lectures, and mainstream and social media.
Swapna has been closely associated with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), and has previously held the position of the Conveyor of INTACH’s Delhi Chapter.
