I recently went, with my friend on a 2.5 week holiday to India with Instep Adventures. It was well organised at all times, from landing at Delhi airport to the end of our stay. We stayed at some very good modern hotels. Some had verandas with wonderful views especially at Simla and Dharamsala – much better than the hotels I had used on my last visit to India. For all of our journeys we had drivers (Ilyash and others) who looked after us well and guided us efficiently.
One of the holiday highlights was the very scenic train journey from Kalka to Simla. Another highlight was our guide in Dharamsala, Jit, getting us an audience ticket for one of the Dalai Lama’s readings and actually seeing him in the flesh. There were many other places that we similarly enjoyed. Thank you, Sumit, for a well organised and enjoyable holiday. If I do go to India again I would have no hesitation of going with Instep again on a bespoke holiday. All of the best for the future.
Sumit was really helpful in planning our India trip. We had a great time and came back with very happy memories. We really liked Sumit’s idea of travelling by train. That was not only very convenient for our itinerary, but was a wonderful experience in itself.
When we first spoke to Sumit regarding our holiday, we shared a list of places to see. He asked us about the kind of experience we really wanted, and rather than just sticking with our ideas, he offered some great alternatives that we had not known about. All through the planning and booking process, the communication was excellent.
The holiday itself went smoothly, and all drivers and hotels were very nice.
I had been thinking of visiting India for a long while, but I wasn’t sure how best to spend my time there and make the most of my budget. I was really glad to have consulted Sumit. He had lots of useful ideas on where to go and what to see, and with his planning assistance I had the most wonderful time in north India. I wish I could go back again soon…
Having visited the Karakoram Highway in Pakistan the year before, my friend and I wanted to visit Dharamshala and areas further north in India.
We met Instep Adventures at the Destinations Show at Manchester in Jan 2024 and discussed our ideas. As promised, Sumit contacted us soon after with suggestions. Over a few months of deliberations, we finalised our itinerary. Sumit came up with lots of ideas and most importantly of all responded instantly to any ideas or questions we had. He was patient and was only too happy to tweak the itinerary.
We recently returned after spending 18 days in India, a week in the Himalayan foothills before proceeding higher up to Leh and beyond in the Nubra Valley.
We were impressed with the excellent vehicles, and the drivers and tour guides worked like a dream. When we needed some hospital treatment for high altitude affects, they all worked together as a team across India and UK, being very supportive and swiftly adapting the plans to our wishes.
We liked all our hotels and in a number of places we felt we got very special treatment due to the strong relationship between the hotels and Instep Adventures.
Throughout the trip, we were able to keep in touch with Instep Adventures, which was excellent as it gave us a feeling of security.
During the planning stages we had also consulted another company, but they quoted almost double that of Instep Adventures!! We found Instep was very honestly and competitively priced, and are really glad we chose to go with them.
It was a wonderful holiday with great support as and when needed, and we’d have no hesitation in recommending them to our friends and family.
Just returned from Ranthambhore, and wanted to say how impressed we were by Harvinder, our guide. His knowledge of the jungle was amazing. Once he took us away from other waiting vehicles to a quiet spot where he believed the tiger would cross to go to a water hole. We waited taking in the beauty of the jungle, and then the tiger came exactly where Harvinder had predicted. It crossed the dry stream bed slowly barely a few feet away. We couldn’t believe our luck and we were the only jeep there!!! Thanks to Harvinder’s expertise, in 4 safaris we saw 9 tigers and a pair of leopards (which we were told was very rare).
We were very impressed by our southern India tour. We were taken good care of by the guides and our driver, everyone was ever so helpful. The ancient temples were magnificent. We look forward to travelling with you again, maybe Sri Lanka next time?
Thank you so much for arranging a most memorable silver wedding anniversary trip to north India. Our visit to the Taj was the highlight. Your expert guide brought history to life. Loved our relaxed stay in Agra, we had no idea there was so much to see here. Pre-covid, one of our friends had visited Agra (through another operator, I hasten to add) and had a rushed visit to the Taj. They were so jealous (in a friendly way, of course) when we shared our experience and photographs.
On our trip to India I was concerned about finding food suitable for my specific dietary needs when eating out. Sumit understood my concerns and told me to ask for dishes that met a specific local religious diet, and it worked like a charm in the restaurants we visited. The people instantly knew exactly what ingredients I needed to avoid and it saved a lot of stress and effort in having to spell things out.
