Cleverly inspired in design by the Kadu Kuruba Hadis, the local tribal village homestead, this picturesque wilderness lodge is bordered on two sides by the Kabini reservoir. It overlooks the grand vistas of Nagarhole National Park on the opposite bank.
A sundowner in the cavernous palm- roofed open-air lounges or dinner in one of the two restaurants overlooking this glorious scene is a ‘must do’ as the sun goes down across the River Kabini. Alternatively experience a lantern lit boat ride for a truly romantic dinner for two.

Destination

The Nagarhole National Park is situated in the Coorg and Mysore districts of Karnataka, where the Western Ghats integrate with the Deccan Plateau. It is flanked by the Bandipur National Park to the South-East and the Wayanad Wild Life Sanctuary to the South-West. Together with these Parks, it forms part of the larger Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.

Kabini is located on the south-western side of the Nagarhole National Park in Mysore district. It has a mix of dry and moist deciduous forests and includes the famed backwaters of the Kabini, a unique micro-habitat on its own.

The Kabini River separates the Nagarhole National Park and Bandipur National Parks. The Boat Safari, unique to Kabini, allows you to enjoy both of these parks at the same time.

Accommodation

The resort architecture has a tribal Kadu Kuruba leitmotif and the dwellings subtly incorporate the colours and textures of the landscape in every detail. The four tastefully-designed ‘Pool Reserve’ huts have temperature-controlled pools and a unique star bed to enjoy the cosmic wonders of Kabini’s night skies. The ‘Pool Huts’ have plush interiors and a personal swimming arena. If you opt for one of the 12 ‘Jacuzzi Huts’, well-appointed interiors and your very own open-to-sky jacuzzi await you.

Dining

The two restaurants at Kabini lay out a platter of the choicest international and regional cuisine overlooking the river Kabini. You can also request a romantic boat-dining experience, enjoying your meal while gently floating on the waters of the Kabini.

Experiences

On the boat safari or coracle ride on the Kabini river, spot as many residents of the forest as you can. The nature trail with the in-house naturalist takes you along the banks of the Kabini and then through the scrub and fields along village roads, and you can also explore nature around the resort at night.
