Beach Gate Bungalows

Down time-worn lanes, under huge rain trees just a stroll away from the beach of Fort Kochi lies Beach Gate Bungalows. Built in the 50s for the Sterling Companies, this heritage villa property was lovingly restored in 2015.

These private independent twin bungalows are an archetype of the last of the British settlement, and have managed to retain their old-world charm and elegance along with attentive service and stylish comforts for the discerning traveller seeking a stay beyond the ordinary in beautiful Cochin.

Accommodation

Beach Gate Bungalows offers two identical bungalows in Fort Kochi. The private pools are perfect for the whole family to splash around in. The bungalows also sit in the middle of lush and sprawling gardens with magnificent rain trees planted by the British. But best of all, you shall be able to experience Fort Kochi and its neighbourhoods just like a local. The staff know this historic port like no other and will give you the best tips on what to see, do and eat! Located in one of the quiet by-lanes of Fort Kochi, Beach Gate offers complete privacy for you and your family. It transports you to Kochi’s rich colonial past, which is fused with a contemporary post-modern style in the architecture of this heritage building.

Each of Beach Gate’s twin bungalows have 3 bedrooms, a living room and a study. The verandah and terrace open out onto a lush garden, with a dining room and fully equipped kitchen overlooking a private pool. Your experience has been made as homely as possible with caring touches, attentive staff and meals cooked to your taste and served at your convenience.

Dining

A chef is available on call. You can plan ahead and visit the local market with the chef to buy the catch of the day. They can also suggest the local traditional recipes to add magic to those meals. Lunch and dinner can be pre-ordered from the villa menu. Breakfast, including continental and South Indian, is on the house. You can stock the refrigerator with any essentials that you need, if you want to cook your own meals.
