Gangtey Palace is located about 10 minutes from the centre of Paro on the valley slopes, overlooking the impressive Dzong.
It is a traditional Bhutanese building; an old palace, predominantly wooden with a small courtyard area in the centre and a separate dining room and bar which have delightful views over Paro valley.
Gangtey Palace has 19 rooms in total which vary in size. Facilities are fairly simple but it certainly has charm and a relaxed and friendly ambience. Some of the rooms are up some rather steep and narrow staircases which are not ideal for those with limited mobility, so please let us know if you would rather be on a lower level.
Hot stone baths can be arranged — this is a great way to relax after a day sightseeing in the Paro valley.
