Perched on the banks of the River Periyar in Kerala, Hornbill Camp is surrounded by lush green lowland rainforest, home to hundreds of rare and endemic bird species. The Thattekad Bird Sanctuary lies right opposite the campsite on the other side of the river.
Hornbill Camp offers a unique eco-friendly experience of staying in one of its 20 air-conditioned luxury tents, 17 of which are water facing. Accommodation here is simple and eco-friendly. Air conditioning works in the evenings and there is no TV. Each tent has its own private bathroom and an exclusive balcony. You can simply laze on the cane chairs in the balcony in front of the tent and enjoy the true colours of nature along with the humming of a thousand birds.
Dining here is al fresco at waterfront restaurant, with buffets of authentic Keralan dishes.
