Iconic Wildlife of Western India

Iconic Wildlife of Western India

Join our expert naturalist on this fascinating two week adventure across North-Western India, in search of some of India’s most iconic wildlife and birds.

The Royal Bengal Tiger is among the most powerful and charismatic predators, while the Asiatic Lion has undeservedly lived in the shadows of his striped Indian cousin. The Leopard has been most adept in learning to co-exist with humans, and nowhere is this better illustrated than at the magical rocky landscape of Jawai.

The saline marshlands of Little Rann of Kutch are home to the endangered Wild Ass and a host of bird species, while Velavadar’s grasslands are playgrounds for the endemic Blackbucks and Nilgais, and a large roosting site for Marsh Harriers.

Interspersed between spectacular wildlife and birding opportunities are visits to exceptional cultural and historical sites, giving you a rounded perspective of Western India’s treasures.
