Nuwara Eliya

The ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka is set against beautiful backdrops of mountains, valleys, waterfalls and tea plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coolest places in the Island, no wonder the British created a hill station here.

All around Nuwara Eliya one can still find British country cottages or Queen Anne mansions and other fine colonial buildings such as the quaint Post Office.

The region has some beautifully sited planters’ bungalows now earning their keep as luxury hotels.
