This almost 300 year old grand heritage haveli was used by successive Maharanas as a leisure palace for their evenings.
Built during the rule of Maharana Jagat Singh Ji II of Udaipur between 1734-1752 A.D., it has been handed down royal generations. A unique architectural aspect of Amet haveli is the beautiful Badi Mahal or garden palace. The lead architect who designed the Udaipur Lake Palace was the pioneer and architect of the Badi Mahal. The concept of having a garden palace can only be be found in three locations: the Lake Palace; the City Palace; and the Amet Haveli.
